NOTE: Another excellent recording of the opening concert on the Vertigo Tour.  Bono's vocals are tiny bit clearer on this recording than on "Vertigo Tour Opening Night".  However, I would say that chrisedge's recording is slightly more powerful.  Audience noise is just a minor issue on this recording, as there are a few instances during which individual voices - mostly screamers - and clapping near the taper are audible.

The following is the only info I have regarding the source:

"Don't know too much about the recording.  We were all hanging out at the load-in gate on the 29th, because the band was inside rehearsing.  So after things broke up, I never saw him again.  His plan was to come by the front of the line on the 30th, and recruit blockers for the 2nd night.  I had hoped to get his email address then."

Apparently the taper didn't show up on night two.
