Sound Quality:
1, 2, : Good soundboard
3: Poor soundboard
4: Very good soundboard.  However, this track appears to suffer from some distortion, although I cannot be sure given that
this is a demo version.  For all I know, the "distorted" effect could be intentional, as the fact that it is a soundboard recording
    would seem to suggest.
5, 7: Excellent soundboard
6: Excellent audience
8: Good audience
9: Excellent soundboard
10: Good soundboard
11: Good audience

NOTES:  This is a very interesting CD.  Some songs, most notably the instrumental version of "Pride" and the live recording of "The Unforgettable Fire", give the listener a taste of what seem to be works in progress -- the former in actual terms and the latter in terms of live performance.  The recording quality varies considerably given the multiple sources from which these tracks were taken.  Nonetheless, none of the songs is unbearable to listen to.  Below are the comments that were included with the bootleg when I received it:

1. Pride (demo-instrumental)

2. Wire (demo-with vocal)

3. Untitled (demo-instrumental)

4. Unforgettable Fire (demo-instrumental)
-Bono can be heard breathing heavily in time with the rhythm if you listen carefully to the background.  The final album version has this feature too.

5. Love Comes Tumbling (alt. vocal version from the Australian 12" single)
-Someone screwed up when Island licensed this out to be made in Australia/New Zealand.  They sent the wrong master tapes!  Bono is clearly improvising a bunch of unfinished lyrics here.

6. Untitled (atmospheric synths + bass riffing)
-From a soundcheck 02-25-28.  I edited this together from a longer segment, but it's fun to listen to now instead of
stopping and starting and getting lost...In the soundcheck, they used this as an intro to "A Sort of Homecoming", so that's why I chose to do the same on this CD.

7. A Sort of Homecoming (w/ Edge's background vocals)
-From the same Australian 12" single as "Love Comes Tumbling".  This is very slightly different from the WIDE AWAKE IN AMERICA version, but they added in Edge's vocals to the mix.

8. Southern Man (live)
-From a bootleg LP of a show in Germany on 02-01-85 (audience).

9. Wire (dub mix)
-From the NME's free single.  This is really a wild mix that has some sounds not in the album version.

10. Indian Summer Sky (live)
-From the Nantes, France 10-23-84 bootleg (soundboard).  They only played this maybe 5-10 times before dropping it from the setlist and this is the best recording out of all the possible bootlegs.

11. Unforgettable Fire (live)
-First time ever played live, in Australia, and Bono improvised the last part of the song saying "Stay, until your heart beats through" over and over instead of the lyrics on the album.

12. Rain (live)
-The Beatles song, played at a festival in Milton Keynes 06-22-85 because the rain killed the synthesizer for "Bad" and then Bono ran out of bad jokes to tell...

13. Bad (Live Aid)
-The incredibly long live version that STILL managed to get cut off when someone cut the signal at the 12 and 1/2 minute mark...
