NOTE (from taper, distributed with .flac files): This is my first recording, a bit of an experiment. I used a Sony MZ-R900 MD and a set of AM-Is binaural mics by Minigear Laboratories, stuck in my cap! I think I probably did everything an expert wouldn't, like go crazy in the ellipse, sing along, clap, hoot, talk to my brother and record in LP2 as I didn't want to be distracted from the show by constantly checking the time and changing the disc, but I was there to enjoy the show. I almost didn't do it as security where really close by, in fact about 4 songs in a guy about 5 feet away was accosted by security and they pulled an MD recorder out of his bag took out the disc and gave him the recorder back. They walked right by me, at least they didn't kick him out. You can just about hear me talk to him before the 1st encore.
The results are better then I expected, in fact I think its bloody marvelous, considering the MD cost me £30.00 from ebay and the mics were £13.00 also from ebay. The bass distorts a bit in some of the tracks but it's not to bad.
I was right in the middle of the 2 B stages for the majority of the show but did move between them a few times. Some have complained about the sound, where I was stood it was fucking amazing! Guess that's Stadium shows for you.
I did this recording for a memento of a fantastic show and to give copies to friends who were there, but aren't into the wonderful world of torrents.
I know it's compressed as it is recorded in LP2, but there it is. If you want it that's cool if not that's cool.
This
is a raw transfer no edits, cuts or mastering I like it to stay that way.
I used Audacity to get it on my pc, index and fade in and out the discs.
NOTE: The bass levels were set too high, resulting in minor, yet noticeable, distortion throughout the recording. There is a decent amount of audience noise (clapping, talking) in the vicinity of the taper.
