NOYE:  Review from Mike's U2 Trading, run by Mike Duchek:

The band is very clear, but also is the crowd's cheering. You can't hear many individual conversations like some, but you can hear some singing along, and a lot of cheering. It really does not take away from the show, it just gets a bit annoying. I would take this any day over a flat mixing desk recording though. The only problem in the show is a short period where the sound gets muffled, and gradually becomes like it was before, but you only get a very small part of the song in this muffled state. The bonus tracks are less quality, but do not feature the audience noise.

Comments:
This is a pretty good bootleg. You get one of the Melbourne LoveTown shows, with BB King and his orchestra ("Angel of Harlem" through "Love Rescue Me"), plus some soundcheck songs that are very cool. The show itself seems pretty standard, with LoveTown performances of songs like "One Tree Hill" and "God Part II," both dropped after the tour. The show begins, however, with "In God's Country," which U2 seemed to choose as the last remnant of the Joshua Tree Tour that they would play on LoveTown (besides of course the songs they kept for years after). Bono also makes several comments about being in Australia, and how they changed the set list each night (this was the third of seven, yes seven, nights, probably because the place wasn't all that huge), something done not as much in the next tours. It's a very energetic performance, as these shows always were. The only complaint I would have is that Stand by Me, which seems to be over the PA, but has Bono on vocals, cuts in late, although probably though before Bono came in. Other than that, the bootleg is very clear, if you don't mind audience noise, except for the short period where it seems to become obstructed, but it quickly becomes OK again. I would compare this to "All I Want is U2" in quality.  The soundchecks are very cool. I don't own the Melbourne soundchecks CD, but some or all of these may be there too. Regardless, the ones here are from two days earlier than this show. They are not as well recorded as the show was, possibly farther out or not with as nice a source, but the lack of audience noise makes up for this. Most are actually instrumental, like karaoke, such as Where the Streets Have No Name, which you can sing along to, as no vocals are present. With or Without You actually sounds like Edge just playing a solo part not in the actual song. The first untitled track seems like a variation on Trip Through Your Wires if anything, but only the drums and general melody sounded familiar to me, and it would be odd, since U2 had not played that song (that we know of) in nearly two years. The second untitled seems to be pretty original.
