NOTE: I converted this bootleg from cassette to CDR. There is a slight hiss in the background throughout, but it seldom amounts to more than a whisper. The only thing that keeps this recording from receiving an "A-" rating is its sound clarity. Were the sound a littler sharper, this would cerainly move up half a grade. There are tiny "pops" between a few of the tracks that resulted from the editing program that I use for the conversion process.
This is one of U2's most spirited performances
of the ZooTV and Zooropa tours. The band is still getting acquainted
with the new material (the tour is still less than three weeks old), so
the music often has that unpolised feel to it that many of us love.
Furthermore, spending St. Patrick's day in Boston with The Garden full
of Irish seems to get everyone all worked up. Bono is even more talkative
than usual and all four band members take their turn at the microphone.
Adam introduces "Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around the World", Larry sings
"Dirty Old Town", and Edge produces a nice rendition of "Van Diemen's Land"
-- one of only a handful of times the song is performed on the ZooTV tour.
Even though the sound quality may not be the greatest, this is certainly
a very attractive bootleg to collectors who enjoy listening to U2 perform.
