14. Post Show Interview with Rockpalast TV Host Alan Bangs

History: HIFI VHS (1st Gen) -> Digital Sound Processing -> CDR (M)

NOTE: (Steve Vahey) transferred this show from a 1st generation hifi VHS recording of the Rockpalast '83 Concert that was televised on German TV in 1983.

I would rate this as an incredible soundboard recording.  Not just because I remastered it, but because it honestly has
about the best soundboard capture I've ever heard.  A perfect mix of vocals and instruments.  It's crystal clear with no
background noise whatsoever.  It has been remastered, and has no VHS crackle or tracking problems.

The only reason my rating on this is an "A/A+" and not a straight 'A+' is because the first two tracks are inconsistent.
They're excellent quality, but the sound is slightly inferior to the rest of the show (which is about perfect).   This is not a
defect with my VHS copy.  I've seen this on other VHS copies of this show also.

The following remastering was done to this disc:

A light click / pop filter to remove some occasional light VHS crackles.
cross fading to blend out gaps before tracks 2 and 3
EQ adjustment (bumped up treble and bass)
Normalization of the levels for a consistent volume across the entire recording.
Attenuation of a high pitch noise between the marks of 0:00 and 1:15 on track 14.

No hiss or noise reduction was performed on this show.  It really wasn't necessary.  The signal was hiss free with no
background noise.

This show has a couple defects.  Track 3 has 25 seconds of background noise between the marks of 2:25 and 2:50 that
sounds like some sort of feedback.  Also, the first 75 seconds of the post-show interview (track 14) had a very harsh, high
pitch sound layered over it.  I've attenuated this noise to make that segment more listenable, but it can still be heard..
