History:  Sony MZ-R700 > ALD (Assisted Listening Device)

Source:  Disc 2 (12-15):  These are the best tracks that could be extracted from a terrible ALD recording of 5/16/01. They are very heavily edited for hiss and sound dropouts.

NOTE:  This bootleg was produced by recording the feed from an Assisted Listening Device at the United Center.  ALDs are use to help the hearing impaired enjoy concerts in large arenas.  They broadcast a feed that is very similar to earpiece feeds from the PopMart tour.

The person who recorded this show also converted it to CDR.  He saw fit to use Cool Edit to reduce some of the background hiss.  This must have been a very difficult job, because the level of the hiss varies from song to song and even changes within the same song on occasion.  He did a good job of removing most of it, but some remains and it can be slightly annoying...especially when it appears out of nowhere in the middle of a track.  Also, there are numerous major dropouts during the first two tracks, making them somewhat unpleasant to listen to.  Regardless, this is a great find -- a soundboard recording of a fantastic concert that included "Out of Control" and "11 O'Clock Tick Tock"!
