NOTE: Features the unmistakable sound of early soundboard recordings.  Whereas the shows that were broadcast over the radio usually had a fairly dynamic sound, soundboard recordings from the early 80s that were not broadcast -- such as this one -- tend to sound thinner and a bit "tinny".

I don't mean to suggest that this recording isn't well worth acquiring -- the band's first concert in their "home away from home" in America.  And it's a soundboard recording!  A very nice find indeed!  The sound, while a tad bit harsh, is solid overall and very listenable.

The first thirty seconds of the recording are pretty muddy and have considerable warbling, probably as a result of tape wear on the source tape.  There is an echoing quality to Bono's vocals during much of "An Cat Dubh".  Also, there are noticeable cuts between before the last two songs.
