History: Unknown generation cassette > CDR > remastered by yauckt > CDR
NOTE [from yackt (aka la nouille)] : first of all i pass this concert through a declicker to remove all this crackling sound (around 77000 cracks were detected). (These clicking) Sounds was pretty muffled except from desire and UV. I give a boost in the HI-freq to increase clarity a lot. I removed hiss as best as i can, a lot of hiss remains during the last two songs wich were much more hissed than the rest. Some edits are covered by fades. adam's speech before tryin to throw your arms is a but cutted. another fade during the encore and between UV and WOWY. i removed also all dead air. a big problem occured during Zoo station, where all left channel was damaged, resulting in pops and total loss of sounds. i merged right channel to remove all these problems. The beginning of Tryin (d2t1) is very muffled during the first minute (sounds clearly a hi gen tape).
The band delivers a strong performance, with some band's mistakes (it's still very early in the tour). A pretty odd version of bullet was performed. hope you'll enjoy what's probably the rarest show to find of the ZOO TV 1st leg.
NOTE (Justin): yauckt's remastering resulted in a very listenable recording. The pops and crackling in the source bootleg are virtually non-existent throughout most of this recording. As yauckt mentions in his notes, a considerable amount of background hiss remains during "With Or Without You" and "Love Is Blindness". Also the first 2+ minutes of "Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around the World" are very muffled, and the first minute of this song is plagued by a warbling sound that is likely the result of an overplayed played source cassette.
NOTE (from www.u2depot.com): These comments pertain to the source recording, which yauckt remastered to produce this bootleg:
This
recording suffers most from a crackling sound lying over the songs almost
as if it was transferred from a vinyl source. Therefore, it doesn't sound
very clean (especially during the opening songs). Also a good portion of
hiss in the background negatively influences the clarity and crispness.
If it weren't for the mentioned flaws it would be a nice recording of this
concert apart from a very lively audience which is a bit intrusive at times.
There is a edit after "Ultraviolet" resulting in two seconds of dead air.
