NOTE:  This is an extraordinary concert.  U2 had been practicing for the US leg of The Outside Broadcast Tour in Hershey, PA for six days and they decided to reward the town's inhabitants for their hospitality by playing an unscheduled concert.  "Outside Rehearsal" was printed on tickets for the concert and there is certainly a laid back, rehearsal-like feel to this show.  The performance begins with renditions of three of the bands most popular songs, "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "New Year's Day", and "Pride" before the regular ZooTV setlist is adopted.  "Pride" is played during it's regular slot as well, so for those of you who are big fans of the song, you will get to hear it twice. "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" is scrapped when the band and the sequencer are out of synch.  Bono then proceeds to play the song acoustically.  This is followed by a very rare inclusion of "Van Diemen's Land" on the ZooTV setlist.

Now for some technical notes.  The first three songs of Disc 1 are recorded at a noticeably inferior quality to the rest of the concert.  This is not to say that they are unbearable to listen to, but whereas the majority of the bootleg merits an "A-" rating, the first three songs are in the "B" range.  Also, there were numerous breaks between songs on the cassette from which I transferred this concert to CDR.  Actually, I own three different cassette recordings of this gig and all of them contain the same breaks.  Therefore, I had to fade out and then in between a lot of songs.  I have noted all fades in the above setlist.  The sound clarity is pretty good for an audience recording and there are no dramatic drop outs.  Crowd noise is noticeable but by no means annoying.

Personally, I have been waiting for months to convert this show to CDR.  I tried to find a cassette copy without the breaks but was unsuccessful.  Even with all of the fading, this is still a great bootleg.  The variation from the usual ZooTV setlist is something that happened all too infrequently on the tour and makes this boot well worth obtaining.
