NOTE: Converted to DVD from a second generation VHS tape, this video is very similar to the some of the 16 August 1992 DVDs that are now in widespread distribution. Bright colors are a bit washed out, and the clarity is noticeably better when the footage is darker. However, as anyone who has converted analog video to digital video will tell you, you can't just set the brightness to a very low level when creating the .mpeg file that is burned to DVD because this will result in a considerable amount of the detail being swallowed by darkness. So, in the end, it is better to live with a bit of oversaturation than to lose most of the detail.
The Adelaide video features black and white footage from "Until the End of the World" through "Numb" and sepia footage during "Pride". Also of note, during these portions of non-color footage, the sharpness of the picture increases. There is also a bit of distortion (looks like the VCR that was playing the source tape had tracking difficulties) during the first ten seconds of "Pride".
The footage of the "60 Minutes" interview and "Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around the World" from the pay-per-view broadcast of the 27 Nov. 1993 concert is very high quality...likely from master or first generation videos.
The track divisions throughout the Adelaide
footage do not correspond to the beginning of songs, so plan on watching
the Adelaide portion from beginning to end...or be ready to use the fast
forward and reverse buttons on your remote control.
