NOTE: This DVD features the same video footage that is included on the U2 In His Garden: You'll Never Be Alone DVD, but it has been converted to NTSC by Gustavo Guevara. In addition, Gustavo dubbed the audio from a different recording over the video. He had downloaded the audio recording from the www.joeahorro.com in mp3 format. However, since almost all DVDs contain audio that is in a lossy format (AC3, MPEG, etc.), the fact that the "source" audio for this DVD was lossy doesn't make much of a difference. The audio on this DVD is a definite upgrade over the audio on the PAL version. Gustavo also created different menus for these discs, which contain the rather generic title for this bootleg.
Here are my notes for the PAL version:
The taper was located in the stands on
the left side (The Edge's side) of the arena at an approximately 60 degree
angle from the stage. The footage includes both relative closeups
and wide-angle shots. The clarity of the video is good but not great.
This is due largely to the distance between the taper and the stage.
Because of this distance, no true closeups are provided. The taper
occasionally has some difficulty keeping the camera steady and there every
once in a while there is a minor obstruction (heads, arms, etc. in front
of the camera). The audio is clear but a tad bit distant and a few
screamers near the taper are audible on occasion. There are brief
edits between some of tracks, a couple of which sacrifice the beginnings
of songs (i.e. "Beautiful Day").
