NOTE (from Mike Duchek): I got this show from Mauricio Ferrusca, who lives in Mexico. He apparently made this from a metal tape he got made right from the taper's master (it pretty much has to be a DAT as it sounds, but he said that there was terrible hiss, so maybe it wasn't). After doing some remastering (he removed medium hiss and normalized to 92%). The result is an excellent sounding set. If you turn the treble up, there is a bit of hiss that really isn't at all distracting, but other than that no background noise can really be heard. The sound quality and clarity are great, coming through only slightly muddy because of acoustics and position I'm sure, but otherwise clearer than many great DAT transfers. The audience is not a problem, they are very quiet, audible only at times as a cheering crowd. Most soundboard recordings have more audience noise than this recording, to give you an idea. The mix is great, the recording has no static or volume problems, and other than the small hiss, just the audience and the show, which carries the typical indoor feel. There are no flaws to speak of except an edit within the phone call where hardly anything is really lost, it cuts right to the beginning of the "Ultraviolet," sacrificing only a few seconds at the most.
The show itself is excellent. They were putting on energetic shows every night, developing performance patterns that would be carried to the end. Bono talked about five, later nine, years being too long for such a town, and promises to be back sooner next time.
